“I really appreciate your efforts in finding a volunteer to wheel my father to shul. Thank you again for the role you played in enhancing our simcha.”

For over 60 years, Friends of the Sick has answered the call for care of people in need.

Although institutional care now provides the main source of help for many sick and elderly people, the one-on-one care we can provide gives those who are able the opportunity to retain their independence and dignity by being looked after in the familiarity and comfort of their own home.

We work closely with other communal organisations and receive referrals from many different sources such as Jewish Care, Norwood, the Association of Jewish Refugees and care co-ordinators in various synagogues.

With the increase in the Jewish elderly population, our services are in greater demand than ever before. We want to make sure that Friends of the Sick continues to meet the needs of the Jewish sick and elderly in the Community.
